Beatrix, with her piercing green eyes and sharp teeth, embodyes the sinful biblical serpent. Broken and kneeling, against her convictions, the witch accepts the sacramental wafer – Christ’s body, and, symbolically, the system.

The Sacred babes series emerged during art school studies, where the theme of female body iconography crossed the boundaries between academia and personal experience. These works reflect and critique the power of male authority in creative spaces.
